Drug suspect, 4 others slain in shootings

There is still no reported death under the relaunched Oplan Tokhang, but a drug suspect was killed in a sting in Bulacan on Tuesday.

Armando Santiago Jr., alias Okso, a resident of Bocaue, drew his gun when he sensed he had sold shabu to an antidrugs operative, Chief Superinten­dent Romeo Caramat, Bulacan police director, said.

Caramat said two other drug suspects were arrested in stings in Plaridel and one each in Bocaue and Malolos.

In Pangasinan, Rocky Palaganas, who surrendere­d under Oplan Tokhang last year, was shot by unidentifi­ed motorcycle-riding men in Barangay Lloren, Tubao at around 7:40 a.m. yesterday.

Nestor de Guzman, 31, a resident of Barangay Butao, Malasiqui, was driving his motorcycle on his way home on Tuesday when he was killed.

Archie Ventura was in Barangay San Julian East, Agoo when he was shot yesterday morning.

Laborer Niño Lazo, 17, was in a constructi­on site in Barangay Balzain, Tuguegarao, Cagayan when he was shot also by motorcycle-riding men.

Businessma­n Ashok Vasandani was wounded after he was shot while driving his Toyota Vios on his way home in Barangay Bolosan, Dagupan.

Motorcycle rider Mylene Bondad, 34, was shot in Barangay Carosucan Norte, Asingan. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.
