Three soldiers, three police officers and four teachers will become instant millionaires this year because of their exemplary performance in government service.

Metrobank Foundation Inc. officially announced on Monday the launch of the 2018 search for Outstanding Filipinos which seeks to recognize the best of the best among the country’s soldiers, policemen and teachers.

The awards they will receive will be in honor of their initiatives and concrete contributions to the development of their sectors and communities.

Awardees will be honored during Metrobank’s 56th anniversary celebration in September and each of them will receive a P1-million cash prize, a trophy and a gold medallion.

“Through the Metrobank Foundation Search for Out- standing Filipinos, we want to further highlight the overall contributions, inspiring stories of gallantry, innovations and sacrifices of modern-day heroes and heighten the public’s appreciation of these professions and the institutions they represent,” Metrobank Foundation Inc. president Aniceto Sobrepeña said.

Under the search teachers, soldiers and police officers who are eligible to join must have a minimum of 10 years of service with “very satisfactory” rating in the last 10 years of service to their profession while those who are set to retire must have at least three remaining years of service.
