Select SSS branches extend office hours
The Social Security System said 51 of its branches nationwide will be open during all Saturdays of February to assist employers and members in paying contributions through its newly implemented Real-Time Posting of Contributions (RTPC) system.
Aside from these, 78 SSS branches have also extended their daily operations for two hours, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., for the whole month of February to accept contribution payments, the SSS said.
“Since the RTPC system is new and some members and employers are not yet accustomed to it, we are extending our ATS (automated tellering system) facility to accept contribution payments and at the same time, provide assistance in using the RTPC system,” SSS president and chief executive officer Emmanuel Dooc said in a statement.
The RTPC is the instant validation, transmission and acknowledgement of SSS contribution data between the payment facility and the SSS system, and subsequently, the posting to a member’s contribution record.
Members who want to avail of this service needs to register mobile or online in order to receive their payment reference numbers (PRNs), which will be used to pay contributions through the SSS’ ATS facility. If they do not have an online account yet, they can get their PRN from SSS member service representatives (MSR).
According to the SSS, 17 branches in the National Capital Region have either extended their daily operations or made themselves accessible every Saturdays of February.
In Luzon, 18 branches are open on all Saturdays of the month, while another 18 have extended their business hours until 7 p.m. daily.
For Visayas, a total of 15 branches have also either extended their daily operating hours, or opened their doors until Saturdays for the whole month of February.
Only one branch in Mindanao will be operational during Saturdays, while 13 more have extended their ATS facility until 7 p.m.
“With these extended office hours, we hope members and employers will be able to pay their SSS contributions on time. This will also give them extended period to register with My.SSS and create their online account,” Dooc said.
Dooc said SSS hopes all its members and employers will have an online account by the end of February.
Members are also encouraged to update their mobile numbers by visiting the nearest branch or through their online account.
Dooc earlier said adopting a PRN-based system would address delays in the posting of contribution payments, which results in ineligibility to SSS benefits and loans, and delays in the processing of claims.
