Kapuso stars in Sinulog, Dinagyang fests
Kapusong Cebuanos and Ilonggos joined this year ’s Sinulog and Dinagyang when GMA Network, through GMA Regional TV, brought some of today’s hottest artists for a series of shows last January.
In Cebu, Regine Velasquez led the biggest names in the entertainment industry that joined the annual Sinulog Festival. Meanwhile, Lovi Poe and Dennis Trillo headlined the Kapuso Mall Show and Kapuso Fiesta last Jan. 19 at the Gaisano Island Mall Mactan and The Terraces in Ayala Center Cebu, respectively. They star in The One That Got Away.
Joining Lovi and Dennis were the lead stars of Kambal, Karibal Miguel Tanfelix and Bianca Umali. Present, too, during the Kapuso Mall
Show was Sherlock Jr.’s Ruru Madrid with his co-star Matt Evans.
The following day, Jan. 20, Cebuanos filled the Waterfront Hotel and Casino to watch the launch of 3 Stars, 1
Heart featuring Regine, Christian Bautista and Julie Anne San Jose. The groundbreaking concert series was a collaboration of GMA RTV with GMA Entertainment Content Group (ECG).
The Sinulog Grand Parade was made special with the participation of the rest of the stars of The One That Got
Away. Rhian Ramos and Max Collins together with Ivan Dorschner, Migo Adecer and Jason Abalos boarded the
Kapuso Float last Jan. 21. GMA Cebu also aired a live coverage of the grand parade that day. The Pit Senyor: The Balitang Bisdak Special Live Coverage was hosted by
Balitang Bisdak anchors Alan Domingo and Cecile Quibod-Castro, together with correspondents Chona Carreon, Lou Ann Mae Rondina and Nikko Sereno. The following week, the
Kapuso Network delighted its viewers in Iloilo when it celebrated the Dinagyang Festival with various events from Jan. 26 to 28. Ruru bannered the Kapuso Fiesta at Robinsons Place Iloilo last Jan. 26 with his Sherlock Jr. co-stars Janine Gutierrez and Andre Paras.
The next day, Jan. 27, Ilonggos who flocked to the Festive Walk Megaworld experienced an early Valentine treat when Kambal,
Karibal’s Miguel and Bianca treated them to a Kapuso Mall Show. Taste Buddies and All-Star Videoke host Solenn Heussaff also participated in the Dinagyang celebrations, throwing a party for the crowd gath- ered during her Kapuso Meet
and Greet at SM City Iloilo. Capping off the Kapuso Dinagyang activities was the
Kapuso Mall Show courtesy of the stars of the upcoming
Afternoon Prime program Contessa. Glaiza de Castro, who is set to play Contessa in the series, was warmly received by Ilonggos who gathered at SM City Iloilo last Jan. 28. Joining Glaiza were her co-stars Lauren Young and Jak Roberto.
