OH, NO! IT’S JOHNNY! WITH ARCACHAT

-

As the New Year starts, birthday celebrator Roselle Del Rosario-Rebano gathered the key staff in the production of ABS-CBN’s late night talk show of the late 1990s in a nostalgic evening of viewing excerpts of Johnny Litton’s opening monologues and Maurice Arcache’s iconic “Arcachat.” The Oh, No! It’s Johnny! reunion at the Penthouse of the Del Rosario Law Centre, Bonifacio Global City was a fun-filled evening of reminiscing memories gathered over the last 30 years. Wow, time does zoom by if one is on the go, n’est-ces pas?

New into production at the very beginning of the TV show was executive producer Leo Katigbak who taught me the tricks of the trade during our first couple of shows, joined by seasoned director Zaldy

Bonalos. Newbies then, my mentor during our shows, Jeff Remigio, helped pen the hilarious how to’s of “Arcachat” while Butch Llige managed to put together guests for the weekly episodes. Though ONIJ ended its run in the year 2000, to this day, I still get called “Arcachat” and “Johnny by Oh, No!”

Our 13 years of weekly appearances on television will always be remembered with great fondness. Indeed, we had a good team managed by top gal with a vision Roselle R. as the mega producer, palanggas. Roselle R. was beyond happy beside her husband Joe, DelRosario Law partner son Jerby and daughter

Ria. It was an evening of tons of fun and laughter with the celebrator chatting non-stop with Click Licensing Asia’s Marilu Corpus, Badong and Diwi

Castanos, designer and image consultant Delby Br- agais and husband Trez, Ambassador of Hungary Jozsef Benzce, beautypreneur Nikki Tang, Hoseki’s Faico and Zabeth Co, Wilcon’s Rosemarie and Tony Ong, Exuviance by Ross owner Ross Licup, dahlings, among the other memorable individuals present.

I was enjoying the views from the glass walls of the high-ceiling Penthouse and I thank the Almighty for occasions to see and talk to “old” true friends who helped Johnny, Roselle and I in our younger years of successfulness and popularity, palanggas.
