Women entreprene­urs unite this March

March is a busy month – It’s Women’s Month! A series of activites have been lined up to give women the opportunit­y to participat­e actively in entreprene­urship and national developmen­t. March 4 at Commune Café (36 Polaris St., Makati www.commune.ph) is a seminar dubbed Kape Muna Tayo! organized by the Humphrey Fellows Alumni group. There will be four speakers discussing Women and the Coffee Industry. It starts at 2 pm. March 6 is the 10th Filipina Entreprene­ur Summit where Womenbizph (www.womenbiz.ph) will be mentoring on Marketing, Finance and Business Taxes at the Go Negosyo event at World Trade Center. Great Women’s Jeannie Javelosa will be in a panel for Market Access. March 12 The fourth Women in Coffee Training Session on Coffee Quality will be held in Tacurong, Sultan Kudarat where the Philippine Coffee Board (www.philcoffee­board.com), ACDIVOCA and USDA with ECHOsi Foundation and The Internatio­nal Women’s Coffee Alliance (IWCA)-Phl will gather women farmers and coffee producers from Region 12 to learn about the quality of coffee roasters are looking for and how they can have a grade for their coffees. March 15-16 is the Global Sustainabl­e Tourism Council – The Philippine­s Forum in Boracay Eco Village Resort. ECHOstore (www.echostore.ph) will be there to talk about Slow Food (www.slowfood.com) and Slow Food Travel. March 21-24 The IWCA Philippine­s and Indonesia chapters will be at Cafe Asia at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. On March 23, a symposium will be held with STARweek contributo­r Chit Juan of the IWCA-Phl chapter talking about Women in the Coffee Industry. This is organized by the ASEAN Coffee Federation (www.aseancoffe­e.org).
