Albert-Kito, Arcilla-Stehmeier top Sta. Elena Cup
Becky Albert and Ikoku Kito claimed the overall net plum while Alan Arcilla and King Stehmeier emerged the low gross winners in the recent Sta. Elena Cup, the member-guest tournament of Sta. Elena Golf Club in Cabuyao, Laguna.
Albert’s 78 and Kito’s 72 gave them a 150 total for 36 holes, beating Rico Brizuela and Rodel Mangulabnan for the top plum in the event highlighted by hole-inone feats by Rommel Aquino and Danilo Dimayuga.
Arcilla and Stehmeier carded a 61 and 67, respectively, to capture the coveted low gross honors.
Aquino, however, drove home with the biggest prize staked in the event – a brand new Lexus IS350 worth at least P2.7 million for his ace in the first day. He made the feat on the 197-yard No. 17 with a Titleist 915 3-wood and a Titleist 2NXT ball playing in the afternoon batch.
Dimayuga, 82, followed suit with his own ace on No. 14 in the final round that won him a Club Car golf cart and P100,000 cash from MAA Insurance.

Brizuela’s son, Arnold, and partner Fischer Chua finished three points behind at second in Class A with their 147. The other winners were Amy Ward/Jerry Florendo (143), who beat John Casey/Art Zuluaga (141) in Class B while Andy Co and Michael Go took the Class C title with a 145, edging Dindo Pineda and Adriano Job by two.
