Innovative Filipino firm Buensalido Architects awarded at two major competitions
Leading Filipino architectural and design laboratory Buensalido Architects was recently recognized for two of their outstanding works, with their design for the new APT Studios winning at The Kohler Bold Design Awards, and their Terraces at Dao office project receiving acclaim at the Metrobank Art and Design Excellence (MADE) Anthology Architecture Awards.
Their work for the headquarters of APT Entertainment Inc. garnered them the top prize for the Culture Category of the Kohler Bold Design Awards, a new architectural and interior design competition in Asia Pacific held in collaboration with Design Anthology and ABS-CBN Publishing Inc.
The APT Studios, which houses the production of one of the country’s biggest daily noon-time shows, was designed to reflect its output: a respite from life’s daily challenges. By incorporating elements such as theater curtains and drapes into various aspects of the design, the structure better displays the studio’s commitment to bringing uplifting stories to audience’s screens.
Buensalido Architects was also lauded for their work on the Terraces at Dao office at the Commercial Category of the Metrobank Art and Design Excellence (MADE) Anthology Architecture Awards, which aims to promote meaningful architectural projects that create positive social impact. The MADE Anthology Architecture Awards are given to architects or firms who are responsible for designs with the most significant architectural or social impact of the year.
Presented by the Metrobank Foundation and Anthology Festival, in partnership with the United Architects of the Philippines, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, and the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Buensalido Architects’ work was among four chosen awardees from a shortlist of 30 projects.
