PHEA leads Phl celebration of World Home Economics Day
The Philippine Home Economics Association (PHEA) joins the international community in celebrating World Home Economics Day (WHED) on Mar. 17, 2018.
The national celebration will be held at the San Isidro Central School in cooperation with the Department of Education of the Division of Nueva Ecija.
Set to grace the celebration are Gina Abesamis, Public Schools District Supervisor of San Isidro; Mayor Cesario Lopez Jr.; Gov. Charina Umali; Dr. Ronaldo Pozon, Shools Division Superintendent of Nueva Ecija; Susana Guinea, president of the Philippine Home Economics Association; Albert Rosarda (Letran), executive committee convenor for Southeast Asian countries of the Asian Regional Association for Home Economics; and TLE, EPP and ALS supervisors, department heads and teachers from all over the country.
DepEd Nueva Ecija education program supervisor of TLE/EPP-HE Dr. Catalina Patiag is this year’s celebration chief executive officer while Lanie Salvador is the organizing committee chairperson. DepEd Division of Pampanga will be the 2019 World Home Economics Day celebration host through the supervision of Ofrecina Intal, current PHEA board member and former PSDS.
Founded by former senator Dr. Helena Benitez in 1948, PHEA brings together home economists and allied professionals to improve the Technology and Livelihood Education and Edukasyong Pantahanan at Pangkabukayan subjects areas as well as the lives of Filipino families.
PHEA conducts its 70th National Conference and Training at the Legend Hotel Pawalan in October 2018.
