Ex-junkie slain, Nigerian held for shabu

An alleged former drug addict was killed in Port Area, Manila early yesterday morning.

Vicente Dalumpines, 49, was sleeping at a covered court at the Baseco Compound when two unidentified men fired at him at around 3:15 a.m.

Witnesses said the assailants fled after the shooting.

Relatives of Dalumpines said he was a former drug dependent.

In Caloocan City, a Nigerian man was arrested in a drug sting along Sangandaan street.

Iwumune Chidi Kingsley, 39, of Angeles City in Pampanga, was allegedly pushing drugs, Senior Police Officer 1 Ryan Escorial said.

Kingsley allegedly yielded P10,000 worth of shabu.

His arrest came after drug suspect, Arnold de la Cruz, pointed to Kingsley as his alleged supplier of shabu, according to Caloocan police chief Senior Superintendent Jemar Modequillo.

De la Cruz was nabbed by police in an anti-narcotics operation last week.

Police said De la Cruz was on the drug watchlist.

In Pasig City, Edison Nicanor was nabbed for possession of a bladed weapon along Narra street in Barangay Manggahan.

When frisked, Nicanor allegedly yielded two sachets of shabu.

Members of the Police Community Precinct 7 were on routine patrol when they chanced upon Nicanor armed with a fan knife.

In Marikina, a 17-yearold boy was collared for allegedly selling shabu at the corner of Ampalaya and Talong streets in Barangay Tumana.

Police said they responded to the site after receiving information that the minor was selling drugs to prospective buyers.

Upon seeing the policemen, the suspect threw a pack of shabu but was retrieved by authorities.

In Taguig City, suspected drug pusher Eduardo Ferrer, alias Alex, was apprehended in a sting in Barangay Central in Bicutan.

Police said they recovered from Ferrer 53 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P265,000, a loaded .45-caliber handgun with expired license.

Probers said the suspect has a pending warrant of arrest for murder issued by a Parañaque City court in 2014.
