Bayad Center launches mobile app

- By DANESSA RIVERA

CIS Bayad Center Inc., the over-the-counter bills collection-payment facility of Manila Electric Co. (Meralco), has launched a mobile application to widen its customer touchpoints while adapting to the various paying habits of its clients.

Bayad Center said the mobile app would extend its footprint in the rapidly grow- ing market and would complement its more than 12,000 payment locations nationwide.

As a one-stop online shop for all bills payment needs, Bayad Center Mobile App allows clients to pay bills anytime, anywhere using their mobile phone.

The BC Mobile carries under its umbrella the string of billing partners and the seal of service and reliability that Bayad Center offers, marketing head Wendell Kristian Labre said during the launch last Tuesday.

“We may not be the first, but if you look at it, the features are put together that it addresses all your payment need,” he said.

Among the features of the mobile app is its bills payment component and bill reminder feature to notify users of due dates.

“We’re constantly updating our list. We will be updating every week,” Labre said, noting Bayad Center currently has 246 billers.

Another feature of the app is the branch locator so users can find the nearest Bayad Center and authorized partners for those who still prefer over-the-counter payments, Labre said.

“For most of us who are always online yet still prefer paying over-the-counter or face-to-face, the branch locator shows you the list of Bayad Center branches, authorized partners, collecting agents and automated payment machines near you,” he said.

In terms of online payment security, Bayad Center said it adheres to quality standards to protect the consumer’s data and online payment information as the mobile app uses a unique system that allows users to securely make payments online without the risk of exposing their financial information.

“We partner with renowned payment gateway facilities. We partnered with PayMaya and PayPal,” Labre said.

The Bayad Center mobile app will soon offer remittance or money transfer services, prepaid loading and selling of insurance to provide innovative initiatives.

It will also be tied with Bayad Center’s loyalty program which will also be launched this year.

Bayad Center offers overthe-counter payment collection service for organizations in the following sectors: utilities, government service, telecommunications, cable TV, internet, insurance and pre-need, healthcare, transportation, electronic wallet, credit card, real estate, financial services, arts and entertainment, columbary, memorial park and charities.

Last year, Bayad Center took in Japanese integrated payment solution provider Densan System Co. Ltd. as a partner to expand its services from over-the-counter to mobile payments.
