Duterte signs 7 bills benefiting public schools

President Duterte has signed into law seven bills creating, converting and renaming local public schools.

The President affixed his signature to the bills last March 6.

Republic Act 10975 establishe­d the Emilio Jacinto National High School in Barangay Pasong Tamo in Quezon City while RA 10976 created the Paso de Blas National High School in Barangay Paso de Blas in Valenzuela. RA 10979, meanwhile, establishe­d the Manlilisid National High School in Javier, Leyte.

Two of the bills created independen­t schools from existing ones.

RA 10978 separated the Paranaque National High School - Don Bosco Extension from the Paranaque National High School and converted it into an independen­t institutio­n to be known as the Don Bosco National High School.

RA 10981 separated the Mayor Bartolome Serut National Agricultur­al and Trade High School Musimut Annex in Kabugao, Apayao from the Mayor Bartolome Serut National Agricultur­al and Trade High School.

The annex will be renamed Musimut National High School.

Another law, RA 10977 converted the San Rafael National High School in Navotas into a technicalv­ocational high school.

RA 10980, meanwhile, changed the name of Manlabang National High School in Caibiran, Biliran to Caibiran National High School.
