Chivas ambassador to conduct whisky seminar

A Chivas Brothers brand ambassador for the Philippine­s will conduct a whisky tasting appreciati­on seminar and cocktail mixing demonstrat­ion on March 26 to 27, at the Vatel Restaurant Roofdeck of the Hotel Benilde Maison de La Salle.

Hamish Houliston manages the firm’s Scotch whisky portfolio, focusing on Chivas Regal, considered to be the world’s finest luxury whisky and the No. 1 Scotch whisky in China, and The Glenlivet, the standard of certain single malt whiskies.

The firm date back to the 19th century in Scotland when siblings James and John Chivas blended their first dram of Scotch whisky in the basement of their store in Aberdeen, Scotland’s third most populous city. Since then, the company has expanded its portfolio delivering the best liquor brand to a global audience.

Having worked as a bartender and a marketing officer in Buenos Aires, Houliston has good insight into the global reach of whisky.

This understand­ing, paired with his breadth of knowledge and a friendly and approachab­le style, make his mentoring sessions both informativ­e and entertaini­ng.

Houliston, who is now based in Manila, aims to share his passion for Scotch whisky with the country’s aficionado­s.

The Hotel Benilde Maison de La Salle of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) is located at Estrada corner Arellano Streets, Malate, Manila.
