Musikgarten goes to CCP
Musikgarten Manila (MGM) is holding its summer recital in May at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), showcasing talents from its regular summer classes on music.
MGM is the top choice for music training in among the country’s top schools for a good reason: Their teachers are picked and selected from the country’s top music conservatories and extensively trained on MGM techniques. The music school is owned and managed by
Nikki Junia (photo), a music scholar since her preteens and cum laude graduate of the UST Conservatory of Music, major in voice. She trained in the US with the world’s top vocal coach.
Junia also brought to the country the Musikgarten program, the leading music-based early childhood development program in the US.
MGM recital departs from the traditional recital presentations, moving to staging production numbers not unlike in regular concerts.
“In Musikgarten, we’re not only developing music techniques, but giving special attention also to performance delivery,” said Junia.
According to Junia, the recital is a statement of the student’s progress in the summer program as MGM’s mission is to develop student to his personal best.
“We look at music as a tool in the development of the whole person, his talent, discipline and confidence,” Junia added.
The choice of the venue for recital is important in confidence building. It gives students the opportunity to be on stage in the most prestigious places like the CCP where the correct elements of an entertainment show are there, explained Junia.
MGM has branches at the Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City; San Pedro, Laguna; and Baguio City. It is opening its fourth branch at the Bonifacio Global City next month.
