2 alleged dealers slain in QC shootout
Two suspected drug dealers were killed in an alleged shootout with policemen during a sting in Quezon City on Friday.
Chief Superintendent Joselito Esquivel, director of the Quezon City Police District, said the encounter transpired at around 11:10 p.m. in Geronimo Compound in Barangay Sta. Monica.
Amado Millete, 40, and an alias Michael allegedly pulled out handguns when they realized their buyer was a police operative and there were other police officers nearby.
“The operatives had no option but to shoot back resulting in the death of the suspects,” he said in a statement.
The suspects died at the scene. Probers recovered a .45 caliber pistol and a .38 caliber revolver from them.
Esquivel said 18 sachets of an undetermined quantity of shabu, a weighing scale and P20,000 in marked money were recovered in the operation.
Thirty-one other drug suspects were arrested in several anti-drug operations in the city since Friday.
In Pasig City, four drug suspects were arrested on Friday.
Alleged dealer Rolando Roman was caught in a sting in Barangay Kalawaan at around 11:30 p.m.
According to a report from the Eastern Police District, Roman sold a sachet of shabu to a policeman posing as a drug buyer in exchange for P200.
He yielded four more sachets of shabu when frisked by policemen.
Rommel Ramos, Wilson Conopio and Manuel Ruiz were arrested while in a drug session at a condominium in Barangay San Miguel at around 9:30 p.m.
Policemen seized two sachets of shabu and assorted drug paraphernalia from the suspects.
