-

After getting eliminated but afterwards managing to secure the Wishcovery’s wild card round spot, Princess Sevillena (photo) of Metro Manila emerged victorious last March 27.

The 24-year-old supply chain coordinator won P1M (also guaranteed P1M worth of management contract with Breakthrough and Milestones Productions International, BMPI), a recording deal with Star Music, a house and lot courtesy of Bria Homes and a brand-new car.

She will also be flying to New York for a makeover by stylist Richie Rich and for a musical training with stage director Joe Barros.

During the grand finals, Sevillena competed in five

Wish rounds against Carmela Ariola, Kimberly Baluzo, Hacel Bartolome and Louie Anne Culala. The scores from the first two rounds came from the contenders’ Grand Finals Wish Bus performances.

In the third round, grand finalists sang a medley of OPM pieces they performed throughout the competition. This portion was scored by New York-based foreign reactors Rich and highprofile talent agency chief, Cicero Oca.

The fourth round was a live collaboration among Wishful 5. They delivered a rendition of

Discovered, an original penned by hitmaker Jungee Marcelo, especially for the competition’s grand finale.

Meanwhile, the fifth round witnessed the ultimate vocal clash among the finalists as they sang their respective solo numbers.

Marcelo, together with fellow resident reactors Annie Quintos of The CompanY and Jay-R, scored the last two rounds.

The grand finals battles were a fitting way to cap off the pilot season of the country’s biggest online singing competition, which premiered in September 2017. The show, aired on Wish 107.5’s YouTube Channel, originally featured 20 singing hopefuls who had gone through a series of intense sing-offs staged aboard the Wish 107.5 Bus.

First runner-up Baluzo took home P500,000, while second runner-up Culala received P300,000. Ariola and Bartolome, who were declared third and fourth runners-up, respectively, won P100,000 each.

Like Sevillena, the four will also have a five-year management contract with BMPI, the firm provides content for Wish 107.5, and a two-year recording deal with Star Music.

Meanwhile, the Wishful 5 also donated P100,000 to their chosen beneficiaries.

Asked about the sophomore season of Wishcovery, BMPI CEO and president Daniel Razon shared, “The next season is now ready and we have big plans for it. We are just waiting for the right time to reveal (the details).” Wishcovery grand finals was hosted by Kris Lawrence. It also featured performances from Erik Santos, Christian Bautista and Marcelito Pomoy.
