Dance-loving children and teenagers now have the opportunity to learn from some of the best instructors in the country at the annual STAR Workshops at the Makati Cinema Square Dance Studio on all Wednesdays of May and June.

Baby Ballet lessons are for kids from ages three to six years old, while Ballet for Beginners are targeted for students from seven to 13 years old. These courses focus on coordination, rhythm, creative movement and vocabulary through play and dance exercises.

Lessons on hip-hop will be for children from ages six to 13 years old. To be covered are basic foundations of the different styles under this dance genre, such as locking, breaking and popping. Aside from upholding the diversity of styles, the class will also explore the dancer’s vocabulary while working hand-in-hand with groove, coordination and technique. Kids are introduced to basic steps and forms, and taught dance combinations, while teens are challenged with more advance movements and variations.

All sessions for ballet and hip-hop will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Tuition is at P4,500. A P500 downpayment will secure a space in the classes. Fees must be settled on or before May 26.
