Wrap and roll

There are all kinds of wraps and rollups — sandwiches, tortillas, tacos and even wonton wraps — and each one deserves to be savored this summer. King Sue has some wrap and roll-up recommenda­tions that are great to bring to the beach, a picnic, or when hanging out with friends in your own backyard.

KING SUE PAELLA BURRITO

Ingredient­s:

2 tbsp olive oil 1 small onion, minced 1 small tomato, diced 1 small green bell pepper, diced 1 pc chicken breast, strips 1/2 King Sue Chorizo Filipino 3 slices King Sue

(your choice of ham); 1/4 tsp paprika Salt and pepper 1 cup cooked rice; tortilla

Procedure:

Heat the pan and pour in olive oil. Sauté the chorizo for a few seconds, then remove it from the pan and set aside. Sauté chicken breast strips in onion, tomato and let the chicken stay for a few minutes. Add in the ham and chorizo and season it with paprika, salt and pepper. Add in the cooked rice, turn off the heat and add the bell pepper. Wait till it’s done then serve on plate or wrapped in tortilla.

TACO ALA KING SUE

Ingredient­s:

Oil for sautéing 1 white onion, diced 3 slices King Sue Pear-shaped ham, diced 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin salt and freshly ground black pepper 2 pcs taco shells; shredded cheddar cheese 1/2 cup lettuce, shredded 1 tomato, diced 1 tbsp salsa.

Procedure:

In a deep saute pan over medium-high heat, add enough oil to completely coat the bottom of the pan. Add the onion and saute until translucen­t, about 5 minutes. Add the ham and season with cumin, salt, and pepper. Cook until the ham browns and is cooked through. Divide the ham mixture among the taco shells. Place the lettuce in the tacos, followed by the diced tomatoes and shredded cheese. Top each taco with salsa, if desired.
