Noel De Guzman at Galerie Joaquin Podium
Exploring the key concepts of line and design, Noel De Guzman’s “Geometric Abstractions” examines the link between descriptive imagery and figurative language using configurations of lines — altering people’s perception and challenging their notion of abstract art.
What can be seen in De Guzman’s Geometric Abstractions are perennial moments of accustomed occurrences in a postmodern world. It is a narrative exploring contemporary imagery, as the movements in his art also mark the freedom of expression the artist so resolutely seeks. Throughout the manifestations in Geometric Abstractions, the artist becomes immersed in an altered reality -- an abstraction of a blissful state through geometric figures and fleeting patterns, while seeking to delve deeper into the causes and effects of humanity’s transformation in its various stages. As visuals form through the limitless-ness of the abstracted phenomena, the artist hopes to leave insights to encourage viewers and collectors to transcend their theoretical limits in their own minds.
“Geometric Abstractions” will be on view from May 22 to June 1, 2018 with the artist reception slated tomorrow at 6 p.m., with the artist flying in from Hong Kong to personally welcome his guests. The exhibit is a continuation of the 15th anniversary celebration of Galerie Joaquin through its expanded store in the new wing of The Podium Mall. The gallery is on the 3rd level of The Podium, ADB Ave., Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City. For inquiries, call Galerie Joaquin at 634-7954 or 723-9418, or email podium.galeriejoaquin@ gmail.com
