ABS-CBN wins 30 Gawad Tanglaw
ABS-CBN continues to be recognized for its outstanding work by the academe as it dominated the 16th Gawad Tanglaw Awards with 30 awards including Best TV Station and the nine awards given to ANC.
Maalaala Mo Kaya won Best Drama Anthology with two of its guest artists Angel Locsin and Yves Flores winning Best Actress and Best Actor, respectively, in a single performance.
FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano won Teleserye ng Dekada while The Good
Son won Best Drama Series and its cast won the award for Best Ensemble Acting. La Luna Sangre, meanwhile, won Best Speculative Fiction Series.
Wildflower’s Maja Salvador and Aiko Melendez each won an award for Best Actress, while Tirso Cruz III and RK Bagatsing won awards for Best Actor.
ASAP won Best Variety Show, while Pilipinas Got Talent won Best Reality Show.
Angel Locsin also won a Special Presidential Jury Award, the Gawad Parangal para sa Adbokasiya sa Kababaihan at Lipunan, for actively upholding and advocating women’s rights.

Classroom on young Filipinos who continue to pursue education despite poverty, won Best Documentary Special. S.O.C.O. (Scene of the Crime Operatives) won Best Investigative Program.
G Diaries, which airs on both ABS-CBN and ANC, won Best Educational Program. Host Gina Lopez also won a Presidential Jury Award for Culture, Arts and Sustainable Development Communication, the highest Gawad Tanglaw distinction for arts and culture.
Square Off, Asian Air Safari and Sen. Loren Legarda (as host for
Dayaw) each won a Presidential Jury Award for Culture, Arts and Sustainable Development Communication.
The Boss won Best Business Program, while Beyond Politics won Best Public Affairs Program. Green Living won Best Educational Program, while Hardball won Best Sports Program. Chinoy TV and Trending with
Kelly won Best Magazine Show and Best Lifestyle Program, respectively.
Inside the Cinema won Best Talk Show.
