With love, Ishta
Ishta was born from Therence Vizconde’s natural love for fashion. After pursuing Fashion Design in LA’s Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, she went back home to the Philippines and began her work in the local retail scene, choosing Cinderella as one of her primary showcases in 2016 at Glorietta and Alabang Town Center.
“Being in this industry is what makes me happy and I really enjoy what I’m doing,” shares Therence. “Helping people feel good about themselves is very fulfilling for me. Being able to help them express themselves through fashion is also intriguing. Their personal transformation and self-expression is what makes it most interesting since having one’s own style is what makes people unique and different from each other.”
So with this mission in mind, Ishta was born. The name was derived from the Sanskrit word that means beloved, desired, liked and cherished. Therence adds that “the person who personifies our brand is a sophisticated and confident woman who has a keen eye for design and dresses to impress. She knows how to express her inner creativity through fashion.”
Pulling inspiration from all over, Therence designs pieces with bold, headturning attitude. But this summer, it’s all about ease, bare shoulders, and trendy details.
“This season is more about trying out new modern futuristic styles and adding some sparkle. We will be having shorter dresses and new and interesting accents and shapes. Some elements that speak of summer in our collection in Cinderella stores are the throw-on-and-go strappy airy dresses, mostly off-shoulder or bareshoulder dresses, and shorter dresses or overlapped skirts with ruffles or fringes.”
There is an understated presence to Ishta: commanding yet simple. Which is why Therence suggests using accessories to either dress up or dress down this season’s collection.
