DE A R RISSA,

I struggle with fine, limp hair. Is there a product that can give my hair volume and make it look like it was just blow-dried? IVY

I also have fine hair and it always falls straight and flat. That’s why my big beauty wish is for a hair product that allows me to wake up with perfectly blow-dried hair. I recently found the product very close to giving me that. I always thought dry shampoos were the quick fix to giving volume to the roots of your hair. But while shopping at Landers Superstore, I came across the Batiste Stylist XXL Volume Spray. I was so curious I ended up buying one bottle. No, this product is not a hairspray, which makes hair hard and untouchable. It’s a volume spray that really gives life to your hair! All you have to do is spray it on different sections of your hair wherever you want volume, then massage it with your fingers. I was so shocked with the big height and bounce it gave my hair — it looked even better than getting a blow dry! The first thing I thought of was going back to Landers to hoard more bottles of this. Results from my first use were so impressive that it made me panic to buy more. I’ve really tried a lot of hair volumizers and this is so far the best that gives height and volume without weighing my hair down or making it stiff. The volume lasts virtually all day, too — even in our humid weather. It’s really the ultimate volume boost. RISSA

*** A good wardrobe is not about expensive brands DEAR LUCY, I am trying to embrace an organic lifestyle, but can’t seem to let go of the serums and creams that I use for my acne-prone skin. Are there clean skincare brands out there that can deliver good results?

What are your tips for building a good wardrobe? Are you particular about brands? PAN-PAN

Yes, there are good brands out there that promise to deliver results. Try Tata Harper. You can also look into essential oils. I like using frankincense EO, a few drops of it mixed into my favorite serum. Aloe vera is good, too, and lavender. Make sure you use therapeutic-grade essential oils, and choose a reputable brand, please.

Since you have acne-prone skin, I suggest that you do regular cleaning facials because a homebased skincare regimen alone may not cut it. It is important to keep your pores clean. If you have spots and you want to treat them naturally, dab some Manuka honey on them. Never pick or prick; leave that to the pros. Hydrate. Eat clean. Bad skin is but a reflection of what is going on inside your body.

A good wardrobe is not about expensive brands. First, you must know your style (find out what looks good on you and stick to that), and put a premium on quality over quantity. Always. Don’t waste resources by buying stuff that fall apart after wearing (or washing) it once or twice.

I am not particular about brands but I can be quite obsessive about quality and workmanship. I would rather purchase just a few good pieces in one year than buy loads of ill-fitting clothing every month.

Also, find a good tailor. If you must have a piece of clothing adjusted for a more perfect fit then by all means, do that. Clothes should fall well, regardless of brand or price. LUCY
