Just for kicks

- By FIEL ESTRELLA

Sometimes, even the most casual sports fans — or perhaps the clueless and initially indifferent — can get swept up in a truly great game. Goals and wins are just more satisfying (and misses and losses aren’t as disappointing) when you’re surrounded by friends who are cheering just as loudly for your team as you are — especially if you’ve got great food to boot.

With this year’s FIFA World Cup set to begin in a few weeks in Russia, Buffalo Wild Wings is introducing World of Flavors, a special menu with dishes and drinks that’ll take your taste buds around the globe. And you won’t be missing any of the action, thanks to wall-to-wall high-definition TV screens showing the most exciting matches at every location.

The Zing-Zing Wings kick their traditional taste up a notch with Asian BBQ sauce, pico de

gallo and crispy strips, topped off with crowdpleasing spicy “Zing-Zing” sauce. Fuel up with the Mideast Allspice Burger, which has two patties, red onions, mozzarella cheese, and lemon cream sauce. Pass around a bowl of Carne Asada fries, loaded with seasoned sliced steak, a blend of cheeses, pico de gallo, lemon cream and spicy jalapeños. Finally, celebrate with their bestselling smothered chicken quesadilla, filled with honey BBQ-seasoned chicken slices and oozing with melted cheese. To wash it all down, you can choose to get into the Russian, er, spirit with some Moscow Mule, or get an energy boost with a glass of blended orange juice.

If you’d prefer dancing and drinking to a ball game for the night though, they also host a weekly Frequent Friday Club: make the most of your weekend with beats and booze as DJs spin the best of house, pop and remixed music until midnight. The best part is, you get 40 percent off on Heineken and Hoegaarden beers, as well as orders of crispy nachos.

When you can head out and enjoy the next best thing to being right there on the bleachers, along with some all-time snack MVPs, there’s really no reason to stay home for a viewing party. Really, it’s like taking your football fandom to a whole other league. Visit Buffalo Wild Wings in Vista Mall, S Maison, Uptown Place Mall, Glorietta, and Capitol Commons.

The World Cup-inspired menu at Buffalo Wild Wings will have you cheering louder than ever.
