The wireless unit of PLDT Inc. has expanded the availability of the free onehour access to YouTube per day to include postpaid customers as part of efforts to promote data usage.

In a statement, Smart Communications, Inc. said the one-hour free YouTube access available previously to prepaid customers which register to load packages, is also now available to postpaid customers until July 15.

Under the special promo, subscribers with an active postpaid plan can instantly enjoy up to one hour of free YouTube streaming everyday.

Sun postpaid customers can also enjoy the promo instantly, except for Sun Fixed Load Plans users, who will have to register to select load buckets to avail of the daily treat.

Last April, Smart, TNT and Sun prepaid customers were given up to one hour of free access to YouTube per day for as long as they are registered to select promos including GigaSurf99, AllOutSurf99, GigaSurf 50, AllOutSurf 30, Panalo Data 30, Panalo Combo 30, Super Combo 20 and Big Time Data 70.

“YouTube is a powerful platform for learning and discovery, and we are glad to make it accessible to all our prepaid and postpaid customers, who can now enjoy an unmatched library of entertaining and informative content to pursue their passions and develop new skills and hobbies,” Oscar Reyes Jr., senior vice president of consumer business market development for PLDT and Smart, said.
