Security Bank lauded at 8th Asian Excellence Awards

Security Bank bagged three major awards at Corporate Governance Asia’s 8th Asian Excellence Awards held in Hong Kong on June 8.

For the third year in a row, Security Bank president and CEO Alfonso Salcedo Jr. was recognized as “Asia’s Best CEO (Investor Relations, Philippine­s)”. For the second year in a row, Security Bank EVP Joselito Mape was named “Asia’s Best CFO (Investor Relations, Philippine­s)”. Security Bank was lauded as the “Best Investor Relations Company, Philippine­s” for the fourth consecutiv­e year.

According to Corporate Governance Asia, the most authoritat­ive voice on corporate governance practices in the region: “Through the Investor Relations Program, Security Bank has observed high standards in furnishing the investment community with its strategic, operating and financial informatio­n through adequate and timely disclosure­s to the regulatory authoritie­s… Security Bank welcomes ongoing engagement with its shareholde­rs and institutio­nal investors to further enhance their collaborat­ion with each other, which is essential to achieve the bank’s corporate goals and objectives.”

“We understand the importance of engaging and being transparen­t with our stakeholde­rs. Together with them, we constantly explore ways to identify areas for improvemen­t,” Salcedo said.

Security Bank’s awards came at an opportune time when Asia is gaining traction as an ideal investment destinatio­n. Aside from competitiv­e products and financial performanc­e, it is through good corporate governance that banks can demonstrat­e leadership not only in the Philippine­s but also in Asia.
