Apocalypse Electric Motorcycles

APOCALYPSE Custom Electric Motorcycles is a small, local, and independent company that is in the business of converting regular, internal combustion motorcycles into powerful, electric twowheelers. It was founded by motorcycle enthusiast Gabriel Yeung, who used to work as a graphic designer in an advertising agency before going full-time with Apocalypse.

Gab always felt that many of the motorbikes which we find available in the local market are either smallish or underpowered or both. Eventually, he decided he would start customizing his own motorcycles, and chose to offer a greener alternative while he was at it.

The beauty of electric motorcycles is that on top of eliminating the layer of required service visits – such as the regular change oil routine – e-motorcycles are also very high in torque, and can thus zoom from, say, 80 to120 km/h in just seconds. These benefits are of course, on top of vehicle quietness and the elimination of dirty exhaust fumes.

Currently however, large e-motorcycles are still not permitted to run on Philippine highways (such as the SLEX) despite its monstrous capabilities, due to a lack of updated, official e-bike classifications from the Philippine government. Since there is no governmentdetermined official tabulation to match e-bike power with the current motorcycle engine displacement categories, authorities would rather not allow them to ply the highways—yet.

Having said that, Gab’s e-bike group has already initiated dialogues with the government to help in the process of forming updated categories for proper e-bike registration.

Because all of Apocalypse’s motorcycles are custom-built, they do not have standard models to choose from. As a general guide for a customer’s preferred range of power and capabilities, the company has three model units that clients may use as reference:
