Alec Benjamin unveils video for new song

-

Alec Benjamin (photo) isn’t your average pop singer-songwriter. He is a narrator and tells dark stories that are highly personal. Recently, he has released the emotionally-charged Let Me Down Slowly.

Hailing from Arizona and currently residing in Orange County, CA, Alec initially gained popularity via his YouTube channel, where, in 2013, he began posting videos of his own original material. Over the course of six months, Alec performed more than 165 shows, busking outside of sold-out pop shows for artists like Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa and Troye Sivan. A natural storyteller, Alec also started to create and share beautiful music videos that he and his friends produced for the songs he recorded in his bedroom. Fast forward to 2018 and Alec has amassed over 190,000 subscribers and over 22M views on YouTube alone, and has written with talented artists such as Jon Bellion.

“I’ve always felt awkward in front of the camera so I decided that in my music videos I would play the role of the narrator,” says Alec Benjamin of the Let Me Down Slowly video. “Most of my songs are based on a specific narrative so I figured why not just tell the story as it is and have some great actors bring the story to life.”

Upon release, Let Me Down Slowly garnered immediate support from digital streaming platforms including global placement on numerous Spotify

New Music Friday playlists as well as an interview on Beats 1 A-List Pop. The single is climbing Spo-

tify’s Global & US Viral charts, hitting the Top 10 within a week of release. In addition to an outpour of praise from industry fans including Julia Michaels, the song’s accompanying lyric video has amassed nearly 250,000 views on YouTube in just over a week.
