Coach Jimmy Alapag & PBA players head Alab clinic at SMDC Grass Residences
SMDC and Grass Residences recently hosted the Alab Pilipinas basketball clinic with Alab Pilipinas Coach Jimmy Alapag and basketball players, Paolo Javelona, Josh Urbiztondo, Dondon Hontiveros and John Ray Alabanza.
The titans of the court lent their skills and expertise, and spent a fun afternoon with the residents of SMDC Grass Residences. “Here at Grass Residences, the community is very active, and people love basketball to the point that we have 12 teams in our basketball league, and so it is an exciting opportunity for us to welcome these players,” says Donnie Lustre, VP of the homeowners association.
Grass Residences, tucked behind SM City North Edsa, offers an energizing vertical village where homeowners can thrive. Proud to call themselves a “complete community,” Grass Residences boasts of a complete array of amenities including indoor basketball courts — full court and half court, six volleyball courts, six badminton courts, an indoor gym and a crossfit gym, an area for darts and table tennis, as well as six swimming pools — a 50-meter lap pool, adult pools and kiddie pools.
“At SMDC Grass Residences, we not only pride ourselves in our facilities, but also our sense of community. We nurture community through the many activities that we host throughout the year such as sportsfests, swimming classes, group exercises like Zumba, as well as sports clinics like todays,” adds Catherine Corro, president – Grass Residences Condo Corp. (GRCC) board of trustees.
More than 60 participants, from ages eight to 19, joined the drills and exercises led by coach Alapag and team.
“Please continue to love and support the game, and continue to invite us to these kinds of opportunities,” said coach Jimmy Alapag. “It’s important (for me especially) to reach out to the community because that’s where we get our support from. Without the fans, without the support of the community, there would be no Alab Pilipinas.”
