A police officer assigned in Cebu City and five other suspects in Cotabato, Pampanga and Isabela were killed in alleged shootouts with law enforcers in the past two days.

Senior Police Officer 1 Adonis Dumpit was driving his motorcycle when he drew his gun as he was intercepted by police officers while allegedly transporting illegal drugs only a few meters away from his house in Purok Uno, San Isidro district in Tagbilaran, Bohol at around 8 a.m. yesterday, police said.

Dumpit’s partner Maria Ella Amores denied that 15 packs of shabu were recovered from the police officer, saying they were planted.

Amores said Dumpit would “even kill drug lords.”

Prince Tian Reyes reportedly drew his gun when he sensed he had sold shabu to undercover agents in Barangay Dau, Mabalacat on Tuesday.

Dodong Catiz, a resident of Barangay Kalaisan, Kidapawan, resisted arrest and shot agents of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, Superintendent Aldrin Gonzalez, Soccskargen police spokesman, said.

Gonzalez said Catiz was a member of a drug ring operating in Davao del Norte and nearby provinces.

Student Genesis Tumumba, 19, and his two companions were being pursued by antinarcotics agents following a drug sting when they reportedly fired at police officers manning a checkpoint in Barangay Oscariz, Ramon, Isabela.

Police Officer 2 Carlo Magno Rais was wounded in the firefight.

Guns-for-hire

Michael delos Reyes, the alleged leader of a gun-for-hire gang in Bulacan and his alleged cohort Richard Casimiro fired at police officers serving a warrant of arrest in Barangay San Juan, Apalit, Pampanga also on Tuesday.

Delos Reyes had just alighted from his Mitsubishi Montero in front of the Ascom Hospital when the shootout occurred, Chief Superintendent Amador Corpus, Central Luzon police director, said.
