Rookie-laden Jr Altas seek NCAA Jrs Final 4

-

Despite its rookie-laden roster, Perpetual Help has vowed to atone for its so-so showing the last time out with a strong campaign this season when Season 94 of the NCAA juniors basketball tournament is fired off July 7 at the MOA Arena in Pasay.

Coach Mike Saguiguit will be pinning his hopes on veterans Joshua Gallano, John Duka, Zeth Romilla and Jearico Nuñez while expecting to draw big games from any of his 11 rookies and transferees. They are out to improve on their sixth place finish (7-11) last year with an eye on the Final Four this season following impressive pre-season campaigns in the Fr. Martin Cup, the MMBL and PCBL Cup.

“Despite the exit of our top gunner Jielo Razon and ace playmaker Jasper Cuevas, our team is more competitive this year,” said Saguiguit. “We’ll fight one game at a time and our main goal is to make it to the Final Four and better our last year’s showing.”

The team’s new recruits are Jasper Coloma from Mary Hill College, Lucena City, Quezon Province, Marc Defante from Biñan City, Edziel Galoy from SFAC Taguig campus, Shin Dela Cruz from UST, Ezekiel Agbayani from Makati;

Rey Barcuma from Bukidnon, Emmanuel Galman from Bulacan, Yukihiro Kawamura from Manila, Derrick Lauchengco from Laguna, Fil-Nigerian Anthony Ogunsanya from Iloilo and Shawn Orgo from Negros Occidental.

The Juniors Altas will face the San Beda Red Cubs on July 8 at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan.
