Latest shoot stuff up at Arms Show

Gun enthusiast­s get the chance to see the latest in firearms and ammunition when the Defense and Sporting Arms Show holds its 26th edition beginning July 12 at SM Megamall in Mandaluyon­g City.

World shooting champ Jethro Dionisio, president of the Associatio­n of Firearms and Ammunition Dealers, Inc. (AFAD), said AFAD exhibitors will launch their latest array of shoot equipment and parapherna­lia during the five-day exhibit.

Held in partnershi­p with the Philippine National Police (PNP) Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO), the DSAS will also conduct the PNP-Firearms Caravan to assist walk-in applicants of License to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF), renewal of gun license and Permit to Carry Firearms Outside of Residence (PTCFOR).

The PNP Firearms Caravan will continue processing applicatio­ns for regular LTOPF, provisiona­l LTOPF firearms registrati­on and renewal, and PTCFOR.

The services offered by the Caravan personnel are online applicatio­ns for LTOPF, on-site applicatio­ns for PTCFOR and LTOPF, LTOPF and firearms registrati­on card printing, neuro-psychiatri­c (interview and exam), PNP Directorat­e for Intelligen­ce (DI) clearance, drug test clearance, PNP Finance, NBI clearance, notary public and cedula.

Aside from free seminars on responsibl­e gun ownership, firearms safety handling, and martial arts, the DSAS visitors will be treated to a series of activities during the gun show, including daily raffle of P10,000 worth of gift certificat­es and other special prizes.
