Meet Taiwan executive director Jessie Tseng (9th from left), Taipei Economic and Cultural Office economic division Director Alfred Wang (10th from left), and Department of Information and Tourism senior specialist Jiang Chuen-Huey (7th from left) led delegates from Taiwanese and local MICE agencies at MEET Taiwan Networking Event in Manila which aims to promote Taiwan as a leading Meetings, Incentive Travel, Conferences and Exhibitions destination in Asia. MEET Taiwan churned $1.46 billion in MICE earnings in 2017. Filipinos make up 13 percent of the total 2.18 million Southeast Asian tourists in Taiwan, a figure that increased due to Taiwan’s visa-free policy for Filipinos enacted last November 2017.
