CELEBRATING NATIONAL CULTURE CONSCIOUSNESS WEEK:
Photo shows Senior Deputy Minority Leader and Buhay Party-list Rep. Lito Atienza giving a lecture to members of the Hiyas ng Pilipinas Dance Troupe on the relevance of having the opportunity to excel in dance as scholars of the Lito Atienza Cultural Arts Foundation. The Hiyas dance scholars — starting at eight years old — are being trained and taught ballet, which is the most basic dance form. The Hiyas ng Pilipinas dance and academic scholarship program was launched in 2000 by then-Manila Mayor Atienza as a way of helping talented children from poor communities of the city to develop their God-given talents and become confident and responsible young Filipinos.
