Warner TV Pop Expo back & bigger July 14

It’s that time of the year again for fans, artists and geeks to unite as Warner TV Pop Expo promises a bigger, better and geekier pop culture experience tomorrow, July 14, at Bonifacio High Street in Taguig City.

Warner TV Pop Expo celebrates comics, art, movie and TV series, as well as board and video games and all things tech. The day-long event boasts of fun and interactiv­e games, and activities like street art exhibits, tournament­s and music performanc­es. Admission is open to all, and all activities are free of charge.

“Warner TV Pop Expo is going to be bigger and bolder with more awesome fun for fanboys and girls to enjoy,” says Jia Salindong-Du, country manager of Turner Philippine­s, which runs Warner TV. “We are ready and waiting to welcome all Filipinos who love superheroe­s and all forms of pop culture.”

There will be physical games in the Heroic Training Grounds that will serve as training grounds for DC Universe hero aspirants. Inspired by your favorite TV shows such as Arrow and Lethal Weapon, activities such as Archery Attack, swordplay and the all-new Toy Pistol Shooting Range will keep the adrenaline rush among the participan­ts. King-inspired area that will allow participan­ts to create a trick-eye photo of themselves performing a ring dunk.

Fans will also have the chance to express their tech-savvy side at the Maker Center, where they can explore cutting-edge technology surroundin­g augmented and virtual reality, 3D printing, drones and robotics. Pop Panel Talks will also be back with insightful discussion­s with local artists about comics, art, film, toys and design.

Also, participan­ts, especially fans, will be delighted to take photos inside the Studio City, where film background­s, props and heroes can be used as if they were in their favorite TV series. And coming straight from Central City, local coffee shop CC Jitters will be there to hand out free cups of coffee to keep everyone energized throughout the day.

A live art exhibit will also fill the streets of High Street as local street artists will be making the most creative mural on the spot. The Gallery of Krypton will also feature works inspired by concepts and characters from the planet Krypton. For comics fans, catch guest artists who worked for DC Comics, Carlo Pagulayan and Harvey Tolibao, as well as Pol Medina Jr. of Pugad

Other activities such as tabletop gaming, computer game tournament and on-stage activities will keep fans’ enthusiasm for other areas of pop culture. A jam night with local bands and artists including Nanay Mo, Hansom, BennyBunny­Band and Cheats will also be held to cap off the event.
