The Bridging Leaders for Sustainable Development Inc. (BLSD) is holding its 8th EcoForum 2018 with President Rodrigo Duterte as keynote speaker yesterday at Subic International Hotel, Subic Bay Freeport Zone in Zambales.
The four-day forum (July 18-21), “Making cities and communities more livable: The high-level conference for local leaders and stakeholders” has for its theme “Sharing experiences, skills, and best practices in making cities and communities more livable.”
Serving as one of the partners to this event is the Chamber of Commerce of the Philippine Islands which through its advocacy and slogan vision “History Builds the Future 2030: Five Pillars” as economic compass, answers the objectives of the forum.
James Gregor Asuelo, chairman and CEO of BLSD, said the forum “provides, among others, a venue for forging long-term programs and policies to address the rapid growth and urbanization.”
“The Chamber’s Five Pillars,” its president, Jose Luis Yulo Jr. said “strives to fulfill the role as instruments for development and country excellence guided by the substantive contents on The Filipino and Education, Philippine Government, Infrastructure and Environment, Philippine Businesses and the Economy.”
Chairman Benigno Ricafort of the Chamber will give the inspirational message, while Yulo will talk on “Perspective: The Philippines and ASEAN Business” and corporate secretary Ceferino Benedicto Jr. will serve as plenary moderator.
“In gathering the stakeholders coming from various sectors to discuss the challenges and opportunities in bringing development to their localities, we aim to forge a unified course of action toward shared prosperity and sustainable development,” Asuelo said.
