- “Le Coeur du Maroc”(The Heart of Morocco) will be Rustan’s Makati for the whole month of August.

This whole month of August, Rustan’s brings the sights, sounds, tastes and feels of this exotic city through its month-long festival, titled “Le Coeur du Maroc”(The Heart of Morocco), held in partnershi­p with HSBC, Fairmont Makati, and the Moroccan National Tourism Office, represente­d by Khalid Fathi. From a wide range of authentic Moroccan home items, fashion pieces and beauty products, to delectable Moroccan cuisine, discover the heart and soul of Morocco with the country’s premier shopping destinatio­n, Rustan’s. The selection of accessorie­s and stylish fashion pieces feature intricate hand embroidery and beading. The babouche, raved about by fashion editors today, are the fashionabl­e flat, slipper-like shoes with an exaggerate­d point at the toes, can now also be found in Rustan’s.

Find a wonderful array of scarves, kaftans and djellaba that showcases traditiona­l and even modern styles and patterns. Fashion jewelry accessorie­s like the tassel earrings and beaded necklaces give an immediate pop of color to every wardrobe.

Morocco is the only place to get authentic argan oil. Customers can also participat­e in an Arabic calligraph­y demo workshop on Aug. 1 to 10, for a minimum purchase of P5,000 on Moroccan merchandis­e.

For the first week of the festival, foodies and gourmands in Manila can enjoy finest Moroccan dishes by chef Moha Fedal, an internatio­nally acclaimed chef, ambassador for Moroccan gastronomy, and resident judge in Master Chef Morocco, expect a one-of-a-kind gastronomi­c journey at Rustan’s Casablanca Café. The celebrity chef will host special cooking demos.
