WHEN WAS YOUR LAST BEAUTY VACATION?

- CHONX TIBAJIA

The idea of sneaking off to a beauty vacation is the most tempting thing. No phones, no distractions, just you and your skin therapist in a nice-smelling, pristine room for a day. Mecca Aesthetic Clinic and Spa is the newest getaway for beauty junkies located just within the city. With an unassuming façade, just a small entryway along Tomas Morato Avenue, Mecca is the perfect spot for a beauty pilgrimage. There are a lot of treatments to try, as well as pampering activities for the whole sisterhood.

President and CEO Mars Balajadia says she created Mecca to be a beauty sanctuary, making sure every detail and corner is as relaxing as their services. “I didn’t want a spa or clinic that’s intimidating or unapproachable. So we designed Mecca such that every area is like a mini spa, every corner is pretty and makes patients feel welcome and beautiful,” says Balajadia.

Two of my favorite features at Mecca are its Spa Theater, and its Eximia beauty treatment, which, as of now, is only available at Mecca. The Spa Theater is where groups can have their foot massages and pedicures while watching their favorite movies in a real theater. Imagine: you and your closest friends, a relaxing foot massage, and Mean Girls. It’s a bachelorette party waiting to happen. Just make sure to book the theater in advance for big groups.

Eximia is a face- and body-slimming treatment that combines endolift and laserporation to fight against unwanted fat and cellulite. During my beauty vacation, I tried the treatment to slim down the lower half of my face. The procedure itself consists of four phases: vacuum suction for cleaning, detoxification to release fat, velum suction for fine lines, and RF for tightening. The therapist massages the area with the endolift device, and it feels like a really vigorous jade roller massage. It’s not painful if you have enough fat on your face, but thinning facial structures might feel a little discomfort.

Post-treatment,you’llfeelthatyourfaceistighter,but the effect is most visible two to three days later. Eximia isgreatfordraining, stimulatingmetabolicactivityand improving microcirculation. For best results, patients are advised to complete three consecutive treatments, every day or every two days. The machine is made in Italy and is available in 40 countries.

Mecca also offers slimming, whitening, Jade Roller facial, Aztec Healing, Revlite, and CaviSculpt. Spa services include the Mandara India, where two therapists simultaneously soothe the body; Mecca Flow signature massage, which combines Swedish, Shiatsu, reflexology, Indian Head Massage and Dagdagay sticks.
