Cargo Movers go for sweep, SLiga crown

-

Riding the momentum from its scintillating five-set victory in Game One, F2 Logistics seeks to finish off rival Petron and clinch the 2018 Chooks to Go-Philippine Superliga Invitational Conference crown today at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

The Cargo Movers came back from a set down to steal the tightly fought series opener, 18-25, 25-23, 20-25, 2927, 16-14, and they aim for another gutsy performance to complete the job in the 5 p.m. tiff that’s expected to go down to the wire again.

“Knowing Petron, they’re always ready to bounce back so we have to prepare for whatever they throw at us, “said F2 coach Ramil de Jesus in Filipino.

Blaze Spikers mentor Shaq delos Santos said they couldn’t afford to wallow in regret after their botched up job in Game One.

“We collapsed and lost momentum and we had our shortcomings, “said Delos Santos, whose wards actually had the chance to seal it in the fourth set with a 24-23 lead but just couldn’t secure match point.

“For us, we have to accept what happened in Game One, move on, be more mature and more ready for the next game,” he added.

F2 looks to avenge its numbing loss to Petron in the Grand Prix finals last summer and even up their head to head championship duel to 2-2.

“We really need to prepare well, improve our confidence and work on our blocking if we want to win it in Game Two,” said De Jesus.

Ara Galang, who stepped up with 18 points and Majoy Baron, who made much endgame damage in her 15-point performance, are expected to play another key role in the title-clinching attempt along with Abby Marano, Kim Fajardo and Dawn Macandili.
