MVP Bossing Awards now open for nomination­s

PLDT Enterprise, the B2B arm of the country’s leading ICT and digital services provider, kicks off the 2018 MVP Bossing Awards.

This year, nomination­s are open to the public, a first since the awards started in 2009.

Initiated by PLDT SME Nation, the MVP Bossing Awards is now on its eighth year and has recognized over 80 iconic business leaders throughout its history.

Tony Tan Caktiong, chairman and founder of Jollibee Foods Corp., was named 2016 Grand Bossing. Alongside him were Andok’s Litson Corp. CEO Leonardo Javier Jr., Astoria Hotels and Resorts president Jeffrey Ng, Double Dragon Properties Inc. chairman and CEO Injap Sia, Eng Bee Tin Chinese Deli president Gerry Chua, architect and designer Kenneth Cobonpue, Mercury Group of Companies president Vivian Azcona, and Phoenix Petroleum Philippine­s Inc. president and CEO Dennis Uy.

Slated on Oct. 25, the MVP Bossing Awards will pay tribute to the Filipino entreprene­urial spirit, celebratin­g local business owners and leaders who have achieved success, with the aim of motivating others to pursue their dreams and aspiration­s.

“In line with PLDT’s 90th anniversar­y, we continue our celebratio­n of leadership and excellence in business at the 2018 MVP Bossing Awards. These men and women are proof that a solid work ethic and a fearless attitude in facing challenges are the defining characteri­stics of a great leader.

We’re looking for the game changers, the pioneers, those who were not—and are not— afraid of pushing the frontiers of business,” said Jovy Hernandez, senior vice president and head of PLDT and Smart enterprise business groups.

Nomination­s for the MVP Bossing Awards 2018 are open until Aug. 31after which deliberati­ons will be carried out by a panel of judges, which includes PLDT’s chairman and CEO Manny V. Pangilinan, PLDT chief revenue officer and ePLDT president & CEO Eric R. Alberto, other key executives from PLDT, and select MVP Bossing awardees from previous years.

The awards will retain the major elements of its previous format, with one Grand Bossing selected from a roster of 10 to12 MVP Bossing awardees.

Two special awards will be given to a corporatio­n for excellence in corporate social responsibi­lity and to an LGU for excellence in local government.
