Q.C. supports PPP

As part of the 100th-anniversar­y celebratio­n of Philippine movies, the Quezon City government led by Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte is supporting the second Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP) spearheade­d by the Film Developmen­t Council of the Philippine­s (FDCP) headed by Liza Diño.

Q.C. will host PPP’s various activities.

The eight official entries are: Ang Babaeng Allergic sa Wifi, starring Sue Ramirez and directed by Jun Lana; Bakwit Boys, a musical film by Jason Paul Laxamana; Madilim ang Gabi by Adolfo Alix Jr. with Gina Alajar and Phillip Salvador; Pinay Beauty by Jay Abello with Chai Fonacier; Signal Rock by Chito Roño with Christian Bables; The Day After Valentine’s by Jason Paul Laxamana with Bela Padilla and JC Santos; Unli Life by Mike Lavelo with Vhong Navarro, Winwyn Marquez and Joey Marquez; We Will Not Die

Fans Day will be held here in Q.C., ‘The City of Stars’.”

The Grand Fans Day will be held at the Liwasang Aurora of the Quezon Memorial Circle on Aug. 11. Touted as Pista at the Park Grand Fans Day and All-Star Caravan, the celebratio­n will be kicked off by a float parade from the Amoranto Stadium. And will proceed to Timog Ave. and Maginhawa St. A meet-andgreet between stars and fans will follow.

PPP will open on Aug. 14, and a Film Industry Conference will be held on Aug. 17 and 18 at the Novotel.
