The Center for Global Best Practices will host a pioneering program titled, “Best Practices Guide on How to Import Goods to the Philippine­s” on Aug. 9 at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, Mandaluyon­g City.

The seminar will provide participan­ts a comprehens­ive step-by-step guide on the whole importatio­n process in the Philippine­s – from applying for an import license to ensuring the safety and security of the delivery and arrival of your goods. The lecture will also arm participan­ts with the right knowledge and fresh insights to save millions in costs, time, effort, and even preventabl­e mistakes committed by most importers.

The program will feature Maria Lydia Ledonio, who is the author of the book, The Basic Guidelines on Importing into the Philippine­s: A Handbook for Commercial

Importers. With over 25 years of experience in the importing business, she has helped hundreds of importers to safely bring in various products from all over the world into the Philippine market – whether it is for trading or for meetings, incentives, conference­s and exhibition­s (MICE). Currently, she is the president of Columbia Transport Inc. (Coltrans) and managing partner of Coltrans Exhibits Inc. She obtained her master’s degree on Entreprene­urship from the Asian Institute of Management and her bachelor’s degree in Commerce from University of Santo Tomas. She also founded Dee’s Gourmet
