Canning firm exec vows to face raps
An executive of tuna canning firm Alliance International Inc. (Alliance) yesterday vowed to face the criminal case filed against him before a Pasig court.
Alliance director Jonathan Dee, who was ordered arrested recently by the Pasig Metropolitan Trial Court (MeTC) Branch 69 along with trader George SyCip and three other co-accused over the case for violation of Corporation Code of the Philippines, expressed confidence that they would be vindicated in this case.
“The records will clearly show that there was no violation of the Corporation Code, and that Alliance Food board voted to allow the complainants to exercise their rights on an inspection. Unfortunately, the process was delayed by the actions of the complainants
themselves, which we will show in the coming days,” he said in a statement sent to The STAR.
Dee, SyCip, and Alliance directors Marie Grace Vera-Cruz, Antonio Pacis and Raymond See were all ordered arrested by the court last July 11.
In issuing the order, Judge Emmanuel Pimentel found probable cause in the charges of violation of Section 75 in relation to Section 144 of the Corporation Code against the accused filed by the Alliance’s foreign shareholders Harvest All Investment Ltd., Victory Fund Ltd. and Bondeast Private Ltd..
The latest case stemmed from the alleged denial by the respondents of the complainants’ right to inspect the corporate books and records.
