4 drug, carjack suspects shot dead

Four alleged drug pushers and carjack suspects were killed in police operations in Calabarzon in the past few days.

An alias Den reportedly drew his gun when he sensed he had sold shabu to undercover agents in Barangay Mataas na Lupa, Indang, Cavite at around 12:55 a.m. yesterday.

Nelson Aguirre reportedly shot law enforcers serving a search warrant for illegal drugs at his suspected hideout in Barangay Ibabang Dupay, Lucena, Quezon on Sunday.

Senior Superinten­dent Osmundo de Guzman, Quezon police director, said Rizalina Villanueva Tolentino, Aldrin Aparte and Lem Garcia were arrested following the raid.

In Rizal, Jeffrey Landingin and Richard Alcantara shot it out with personnel of the Highway Patrol Group in Barangay Pantok, Binangonan at around 11 a.m. on Sunday, Superinten­dent Peter Dionisio, HPG-Calabarzon director, said.

Dionisio said three caliber .45 pistols, cellular phones and various types of ammunition were recovered from the fatalities.

Chief Superinten­dent Edward Carranza said Landingin was the alleged leader of a gang involved in carjacking, illegal drugs and contract killings.

Landingin’s cohorts were also accused of involvemen­t in the killing of Col. Ray Tagnong, Calabarzon police chief legal officer; Danilo Laciste, chairman of Barangay Pintong Bukawe in San Mateo, and retired police officer Rody Lico, who ran and lost in the barangay elections last May.

Abu-linked drug ring members surrender

In Basilan, Abdurachma­n Akmad, 33; Gimal Aharul, 18, and Astal Dalih, 30, suspected members of the Tatlong Alas drug ring with alleged links to Abu Sayyaf leader Abdulah Indanan, surrendere­d in Mohamad Ajul town on Sunday.

The suspects also turned over two M16 rifles and a carbine with several rounds of ammunition to the 3rd Scout Ranger Battalion, according to a report of the Basilan police office.

The surrender was reportedly facilitate­d by Moro National Liberation Front commander Abdulatip Habib Bata Habib Hussin in Barangay Candiis.

Another drug ring member, Radzkumar Ismael, 27, was apprehende­d during a raid on his alleged safehouse in Barangay Tuburan also on Sunday.

Ismael reportedly yielded an M16 rifle, a fragmentat­ion grenade, a handheld radio and various identifica­tion cards.
