TO FURTHER assist in the delivery of prompt and quality medical attention to the public, FOTON Motor Philippines, Inc. donated a brand-new unit of the TransVan HR (High Roof) ambulance to the Philippine Red Cross on its 32nd Biennial National Convention.

“As part of our corporate social responsibility, the donation of this ambulance aims to provide immediate response to the humanitarian situations through efficient means of transportation in line with the objectives of the Philippine Red Cross,” said FOTON Philippines president Rommel Sytin.

The TransVan HR’s power is sourced from a 2.8-liter, turbodiesel engine, that makes 225 Nm of torque. Moreover, the ambulance is already made Euro 4-compliant for safer and cleaner emissions to innovate the local transport system, and uphold greener environment, and healthier community as well.

Measuring 5,335mm in length, 2,020mm in width (including mirrors), and 2,250mm in height, the TransVan HR is modified with ampler headroom and legroom compared to the standard TransVan model — a huge advantage which will enable the paramedics to perform their tasks comfortably, for wider storage of medical equipment, and most importantly, to provide sufficient breathing space for the patients that will help in alleviating their condition while en route.

Stepping inside the ambulance through its side sliding door (and lift-type back door), there is a wheeled stretcher that features an adjustable backrest, and a contour mattress to enhance the patient’s comfort, along with a heavy duty spine board with safety straps.

For the attendants, the TransVan HR ambulance showcases three reclinable front-facing seats with seatbelt and headrest which is optimally positioned to enable the paramedic to comfortably monitor the patient while lying in the stretcher. As visibility in the rear cabin is essential, also installed are indoor illumination lamps, additional LED cabin interior lights.

To improve ventilation in the rear cabin, the TransVan HR ambulance also includes additional cabin air exhaust fan apart from the vehicle’s existing heating and air conditioning system. 12V and 220V power sockets are conveniently positioned in the ambulance compartment to assist in operating and recharging a wide range of medical equipment. First aid kit, stethoscopes, aneroid blood pressure monitor, ambulatory bags come standard in the non-slip-floored ambulance.

“Through our continuously expanding and innovative products, we commit to provide faster and more efficient mobility solutions for the benefit and safety of the lives of the Filipinos,” closed Sytin.

FOTON is known as Asia’s largest manufacturer of commercial vehicles including passenger vehicles, lightduty trucks, heavy-duty trucks and heavy machineries.
