5 rob, drug suspects killed in shootouts

Two alleged drug dealers and three suspected robbers were killed in reported shootouts with police officers in Bulacan, Cavite, Olongapo and Pangasinan in the past two days.

Christophe­r Eusebio, who was on the drug watchlist, drew his gun when he sensed he had sold shabu to undercover agents in Barangay Poblacion, Baliuag at around 11:55 p.m. on Thursday, according to Senior Superinten­dent Chito Bersaluna, Bulacan police director.

A .22 caliber revolver and three grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P20,400 were reportedly recovered from the fatality.

Bersaluna said 16 sachets of shabu were also recovered from six other persons arrested in drug busts in Obando, Hagonoy, San Rafael and Guiguinto.

Also on Thursday, Nestor Samson allegedly fired at police officers serving a search warrant for illegal drugs at his residence in Barangay Sampaloc 2, Dasmariñas.

In Olongapo City, two suspected motorcycle thefts who have yet to be identified reportedly shot police officers when cornered along Magiting street in Barangay Sta. Rita before dawn yesterday.

Prior to the incident, John Robert Garcia told police that three men on a motorcycle took his motorbike along Balic Balic road.

In Pangasinan, Joshua Laxamana, 18, an alleged Akyat Bahay gang member, reportedly refused to pull over and fired at police officers manning a checkpoint in Barangay Poblacion, Balungao town.
