Rody to Joma: Sun burnt my face

- By EDITH REGALADO

DAVAO CITY – Too much exposure to the sun caused the face of President Duterte to look like it had darkened or was even burnt these past days.

The President cleared this up Thursday, pointing out how Communist Party of the Philippines founder Jose Ma. Sison had been spreading the news that he was in coma and dying as evident in the dark patch on his face.

“Look at an ideologue. Look at what he is now. Instead of focusing on the betterment of the (communist) movement, he is saying things like my face looks burned. Whose skin wouldn’t darken? I’m the only one who likes to roam the mountains,“the President said, partly in Visayan, during the 12th anniversary of the Armed Forces Eastern Mindanao Command at Camp Panacan here the other day.

He said he refuses to use products that women use in an effort to hide the dark spots on their skin, adding that this would only irritate his face.

The reports about his health status were something that the President said he purposely let out,

which Sison pounced on to post on his Facebook account that Duterte was comatose.

He pointed out that he would usually tell people he is suffering from Stage 3 cancer and kidney failure – a joke that, he believed, could have reached Sison.

“Stupid Sison believed it,“Duterte said, referring to the rumor that he boarded a helicopter with eyes already closed.

He added that the communist leader might not be familiar with his language –which he described as bastos (rude) – and how he talks in a joking manner.
