Robinsons beefs up presence in Cebu

-

Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC) is set to complete early next year its 300-room resort hotel in Mactan, Cebu under the Dusit Thani hospitality brand as it continues to beef up its expansive real estate portfolio in the province and city of Cebu.

“The five-star resort, which will be the centerpiece of our 10-hectare AmiSa mixed-use complex, will cater to international and domestic tourists and will be a top choice of the MICE market,” said RLC president Frederick Go.

Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu Resort is a short drive from the newly expanded and beautifully designed Mactan Cebu International Airport, via the Punta Engano Road.

While this is RLC’s first resort project in Mactan, the property developer has long been involved in the bustling province’s hospitality sector, taking keen interest in the country’s tourism sector and taking advantage of Cebu’s new developments such as the upgrading of Mactan- Cebu Airport. According to the Department of Tourism report last April, a total of nearly seven million tourists arrived in Central Visayas. Considering that Cebu has virtually become the tourist hub of the country, RLC’s move to build hotels in the province will continue to serve this growing tourism market.

The Robinsons Hotels and Resorts Group currently operates two hotels in Cebu City: the 211-room Summit Circle Cebu and the 220-room Summit Galleria Cebu. Both hotels are popular among local and foreign travelers and enjoy high occupancy rates year-round. Summit Galleria Cebu has a pillar-less ballroom which allows those staging their special events more flexibility. This banquet facility is located adjacent to guest rooms, making it ideal in preparing wedding plans.

The Gokongwei family has been doing business in Cebu for eight decades, having started in the 1940s. Now, their real estate conglomerate, Robinsons Land Corp., has already established a solid presence in other segments of the Cebu’s real estate business with malls, office buildings, and residential developments.

Currently, there are three malls operating in the city. The original Robinsons Fuente, now a Cebu landmark, followed by Robinsons Cybergate Cebu, and the flagship Robinsons Galleria Cebu along Maxilom Avenue in the reclamation area, which collectively houses about 300 tenants.

Each mall has become a fixture in the province. With its central location, featuring home-grown, Manila-based and international brands, Robinsons Fuente has become the Cebuanos’ preferred shopping haven. Robinsons Cybergate Cebu is Cebu’s first wellness and lifestyle center, which hosts special shows and events that add color and excitement among Cebuano patrons and visitors. Meanwhile, Robinsons Galleria Cebu offers world-class architecture and vibrant indoor landscapes with lush interior gardens, cascading water features, and Sun Court al fresco dining area.

All three malls are fully-leased out due to their strategic locations which make them ideal destinations for shopping, dining and entertainment. Robinsons Galleria Cebu, similar to its Manila counterpart, is also part of a mixed-use complex with Summit Galleria Cebu, a BPO center and three residential towers all but steps away from each other. These commercial centers redefine the province’s shopping experience with an impressive roster of global and top retail brands lining up its hallways.

RLC also has two PEZA-registered office buildings in Cebu City. The offices include Cybergate Cebu and the office floors located at Robinsons Galleria Cebu. A third BPO office building is being constructed within the Galleria Complex to be called Cybergate Galleria Cebu. Current notable tenants are Accenture, Sykes, Support Sales and PMAXGlobal, employing thousands of BPO workers.

Two of the office developments are strategically located within the Robinsons Galleria Cebu mixed-use complex and thus enjoy the convenience of a wide selection of retail, service and dining options while being easily accessible to public transportation. All three office spaces offer large and efficient floor plate with green and sustainable building features such as LED lighting and water-efficient fixtures.

RLC has also established a reputation for building a wide range of quality homes for Cebuanos with its existing residential developments, which have been warmly received by the market.

Under high-rise development arm Robinsons Residences, RLC has launched two of the three towers of Galleria Residences Cebu, which is also situated within the Robinsons Galleria Cebu Complex. These residential towers offer the widest range of leisure activities for residents to enjoy wherein each of three towers offer varying lifestyle amenities. The three residential towers, in modern architectural design, will also house retail spaces on its ground floor.

The other residential project under the Residences brand is The Azalea Place. Situated along Gorordo Avenue in Lahug district, the 25-story development offers amenities such as the library WiFi lounge, an audio-visual room, and a business center, making this the ideal home for college students and professionals especially with its close proximity to universities, government agencies, and business parks.

Under RLC’s Luxuria brand is the three-tower high-end residential project, AmiSa Private Residences. It stands over the historical and stunning seascape of Mactan Island in Punta Engaño and located within the same mixed-use complex as Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu Resort. Dubbed as the first leisure residential community in Mactan, Cebu – AmiSa Private Residences is inspired by the Australia’s Gold Coast featuring 475 luxurious units, lush landscaping, amenities perfect for a weekend home, and 200-meter wide waterfront.

Meanwhile, RLC’s horizontal residential property arm Robinsons Homes, completed the 15-hectare Aspen Heights which offered 584 lots in Consolacion as well as the Blue Coast Residences, with 79 lots located on three-hectares in Punta Engaño, Lapu-Lapu City. Both subdivisions, designed with clean and classic details of American architecture, offer the best of the outdoor amenities and uninterrupted view of the magnificent Mactan Bay.
