A love story set in La Union, Seattle and Manila

-

Ross Nisce and Maan Ibarra must have come from practically opposite ends of the spectrum. Ross, a managing director of their family-owned businesses, hails from the Surfing Capital of the North — La Union. Born and raised in this coastal town, he possesses a laid-back and charming demeanor.

Meanwhile, Maan, a strong-willed surgeon, has been a city girl in the hustle and bustle of Metro Manila. Aside from her passion for medicine, she seeks the thrill of new adventures and travels whenever she can.

As fate would have it, Ross and Maan met on a beautiful, warm January morning along the beautiful coast of San Fernando, La Union. Connected by mutual friends, they were able to almost immediately build a bond destined to last a long, long time.

For the next four years, this was the relationship they built. Not only did they travel back and forth between Manila and La Union, they snuck in a few local and foreign trips in between. They have found solace and warmth in one another’s company. Little did they know that these would become the perfect ingredients for a lasting, trusting and loving relationship.

Ross popped the question during Christmas 2016, some 10,800 kilometers away in Seattle, Washington. It was an instant “yes,” as they both knew their mutual love and affection was meant to last them a lifetime. They celebrated with an intimate civil wedding the following year with their families and closest friends. And as if the heavens weren’t already kind enough, they received the best gift: their adorable daughter Olivia Luna arrived in June of the same year.

Last Aug. 25, Ross and Maan were pronounced husband and wife in front of Santuario de San Antonio church by Bishop Paul Jaucian, a union co-celebrated by Fr. Boyd, Fr. Sanny and Fr. Sales. Witnessing this event were the beautiful joined families of Ibarra-Nisce and their closest friends from the city and back home. The solemn Santuario de San Antonio ceremony near Forbes Park was followed by a grandiose reception at Grand Hyatt, BGC in Taguig.

Stylist Gideon Hermosa transformed the ballrooms into a lush and verdant place that left the gorgeous guests in awe. The bride and little bride Olivia wore exquisite white, flowing gowns by Eddie Baddeo and custom-made Jefferson Si shoes. Raymond Villanueva directed the program with Signature Events and the night was filled with a celebration of love for the couple.

Their love story is an amazing array of twists and turns, but they have proven that, if love is, indeed, pure and unconditional, it will withstand any challenges life throws their way. At the end of the day, their love endures, and the crowd all cheered for a lifetime of happiness for their family.
