Alay Lakad marks 46th year
Alay Lakad Foundation Inc., the pioneer walk for a cause for the outof-school youth of the country marks its 46th year anniversary this month.
“Walking” was conceptualized in 1972 to raise funds for the benefit of thousands of young girls and boys who were marginalized, specially the out-of-school youth, to be able to send them to school and to provide trainings and opportunities to improve their way of life and become self-sufficient.
Alay Lakad became a foundation in 1975, has 32 government and non-government member-agencies and individuals. Chapters have also been organized in different parts of the country.
This year’s chairman of the national coordinating committee is Rotary Club International District 3810 led by Rotary district governor Rudy Bediones and the vice chairman is Junior Chamber International, Philippines led by national president Rey Felix Rafols. The theme of Alay Lakad 2018 is “Kabataan Suporta ng Bayan.”
The chairperson of Alay Lakad Foundation Inc. is President Rodrigo Duterte.

Alay Lakad Foundation Inc. president Frank Evaristo is inviting everyone to join the walk of Sunday, Sept. 23, 8 a.m. at the Quirino Grandstand, Rizal Park to help raise funds for the benefit of the out-of-school youth to finance their scholarship, educational assistance and livelihood trainings for them to become productive and self-reliant.
