TOYOTA CLASSICS 2018: MUSIC THAT MOVES LIVES
Toyota Motor Philippines brings back Toyota Classics 2018. Now in its 19th year, enjoy a performance by the internationally renowned Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment from London under the baton of conductor and a harpsichordist, Steven Devine together with Lea Salonga on Nov. 7, at The Theatre at Solaire Resort and Casino.
The Toyota Classics theme is “Music that Moves Lives.” Aligned with Toyota’s global vision of providing mobility for all, it aims to inspire people to strive for their dreams and make their impossible moments happen.
The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment will present baroque music, a style popular between the years 1600 to 1750.
The Toyota Classics is one of Toyota’s biggest corporate social responsibility ventures. This concert has raised close to $9.5 million for beneficiaries of local charities across the Asia Pacific Region for the past 29 years. Moreover, the concert has also helped promote sustainable development and, of course, the beauty of classical music in several countries across Asia.
Toyota’s beneficiary is para-swimmer gold medalist, Ernie Gawilan and the Philippine Paralympic Committee (PPC). Formed by the Philippine Sport for the Differently-Abled (Philspada), the PPC now serves as the counterpart of the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) led by its president Mike Barredo, a former Philippine Sports commissioner who also heads Philspada.
